Story
My eldest son , James has autism and ADHD with learning difficulties. He is a huge light in my life, and a bit of a bugger too.
From when we first noticed James' problems (18 months old) to now, it has always been a challenge to find the right help.
My wife and I were lucky. Near us is a brilliant little charity - Centre for ADHD and Autism Support. The courses they run, the advice they give and the support they offer has been life changing. Literally life changing.
They have given us an insight to James' world, what he was thinking and why. They also give advice and support to manage difficult behaviour.
They allowed us to help change James' life. Gone is the sullen, quiet child. We have a very happy, loving, noisy, talking, Tigger of a young man.
The charity is brilliant. Most of the support workers have direct experience of family members with ADHD and Autism.
Been there and done that is an over used phase. This is a charity that offers practical advice and help from people who are there and are doing that. They have knowledge , they have passion.
The Centre has grown over the years it covers Harrow, Hillingdon, Brent, Ealing, and Hertfordshire. Also anyone who telephones from anywhere in the country can get telephone support and direction to local support.
62 miles will take us 26 to 30 hours of constant walking. My sister Sue and I are doing this so the Centre for ADHD & Autism Support can make a real difference to other families.
If you can, please support us and help these fantastic people help other families.
