Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I delighted to be a part of the University of Portsmouth lecturers' team taking on the students at Fratton Park. We're raising money for Pompey in the Community and Dementia UK which are two charities I am keen to support. All the money donated is split 50:50 between the two charities.
Football and the football club are a proud part the city of Portsmouth, so Pompey in the Community are able to reach out to people across the city and they offer a wide range of opportunities and support. In particular the Life n Chimes projects helps those suffering from dementia, and helps their carers too. My own mum died in 2012 after several years with Alzheimer's disease and I know how tough that was for her and for my dad looking after her.
When it comes to football I'm just a big kid. When I found out there was going to be a staff vs students match at Fratton Park I was really excited to think I might get to play on the hallowed turf! Football is a great way to bring people together, and the older I get the more fun I get out of playing and helping others get involved.
Please donate what you can to this good cause. And if you can then please come along to support us at Fratton Park on Saturday May 21st. I'm guessing the lecturers will need all the support we can get against those young students!
