Story
On June 11 this year, along with some friends and colleagues, I will travel to Morocco where we will spend 6 days in the High Atlas, North Africa’s greatest mountain range. We will trek through valleys, up to high villages made predominantly out of mud brick, and ultimately ascend to the summit of Mount Toubkal – North Africa’s highest peak at 4,167m.
I am doing this to help support Strathcarron Hospice, a place that became close to my heart when they looked after my Dad during his illness until he died. The level of care my Dad got was incredible and provided a huge comfort to my family at such a difficult time. So many lives are touched by Strathcarron Hospice which constantly strives to develop the services it offers. As well as inpatient care and day care, Strathcarron has recently launched its Hospice at Home service.
I have been on the Board of Strathcarron Hospice for the last 7 years and am currently mid-way through my 3 year term as Chairman. The privilege of being so closely involved has allowed me to see at first hand what a professional, well run and wonderful place it is, always striving to exceed the exceptionally high standards it already sets. To provide these vital services the Hospice must raise almost £10,000 every single day of the year from fundraising activities and donations. Any support you are able to give me will help us do this.
