Poole Harbour 24hr Endurance Kayaking Challenge, 30 July 2017
We Help and support homeless veterans, and to Improve the lives of veterans in need

Story

Myself and a small group of veterans and friends are taking part in a 24hr Kayaking Endurance challenge around Brownsea Island, Furzey Island and Green Island in Poole Harbour in Dorset. The event start date has been confirmed for the 17th of September starting at 10am from Lake Pier in Hamworthy, Poole now that  Tidal Conditions have been released.

We have had to put a back up plan in place in case of serious inclement weather which are as follows.

The Kayak Challenge will take place in the Sandbanks Lagoon which is a huge area of the Harbour which is protected by Harbour Walls. The sea only reaches head height at high tide and is waist level at low tide. I am hoping we wont have to use this area but because a date has been set now this has had to be put in place.

This will be a continuous paddle with supplies provided via our support vessel which will be with us throughout the challenge. Every safety precaution has been taken with this challenge with Poole Harbour Commissioners and the RNLI giving us there full support.

This is no easy task as the conditions in some areas are very difficult due to the tidal push coming into the Harbour but endurance is what it is all about and rest breaks will be included in the 24hrs

There are to many Homeless Veterans in our country and this challenge has the full support of the local media to try and highlight the issues faced by our Homeless Veterans so that the general public are fully aware.

Help4Homeless Veterans are an amazing charity that do so much with such little money and the passion that is shown by everyone involved is second to none. There are no ego's involved its just all about the Veterans. Please help us to support this amazing charity. Thankyou
