Thanks for visiting my page.
UPDATE: The lovely Jo Carden has stepped in at a week's notice to take the place of our injured walker. That's a blinking big ask of anyone I think you'll agree. Jo is sharing my page as it seems a bit daft to start up a new one now ... So welcome Jo supporters.... This is the place to donate to your chum!
Last year i told a little fib, although i didn't know it was a fib at the time. I said i would never do a sponsored event again, never ask for donations again and yet here I am. Well sorry about that! But Speak Out it a brilliant charity and i want to do it one last time and i do promise....this really will be the last time. This year i am taking a team to London so that we can walk home to Brighton for Speak Out.
What For! Speak Out
So - Speak Out is a small charity based in Brighton. We are an advocacy organisation for people with learning disabilities. People with learning disabilities are some of the most vulnerable in the country and in these difficult times, where finances to local authorities are constantly being cut, people with learning difficulties continue to be some of the hardest hit. Speak Out offers Drop Ins, 1:1 advocacy and Self- Advocacy groups to ensure that people with learning disabilities have a chance to speak up for themselves. Have a look at our website www.bhspeakout.org.uk It is vitally important that charities like Speak Out raise money to enable them to carry on the work they do and i hope you can be generous one last time.
What am I doing?
I will be walking from London2Brighton all in one go, Knees willing! They weren't at all happy last year, so i am hoping they see me through this one last time. It's quite a long way....100K.... it took us over 30 hours last year so it would be nice to do it in a little less time....but completing is the goal.
This year, my little dog Doodles is also joining me on my training walks. He's only got little legs....so if you don't want to sponsor me again.....do it for the Doods!
