In September 2016 we will be trekking 50 miles through the Carpathian Mountains in Romania to raise funds for a Bear Sanctuary in Romania. The Sanctuary is home to over 70 bears who have been rescued from extreme cruelty in rusty cages, and illegal zoos. The bears now have room to roam in forested enclosures and are free to live out the rest of their life happily doing what bears do naturally.

We  were both so moved and impressed with the work of the Sanctuary when we completed the trek in 2011 and 2012 that we decided that we wanted to do it all over again. Walking does not come naturally to us, but we both feel we have to do it for the bears.
