I have set up this JustGiving page to keep track of money raised for my trip to Rwanda in the summer to teach Debate Mate. 

While at University I have taken part in this amazing organisation that goes into schools in areas of high child poverty across 6 cities in the UK. At these schools mentors, like me, teach the children debating which raises speaking and listening attainment, as well as improve a range of high order thinking skills and non-cognitive abilities such as confidence, teamwork and leadership. In doing so it addresses the widening skills gap between education and employment, whilst raising aspirations and helping students to make informal post 18 choices.

 From taking part in this programme I have seen first hand how it affects and changes the lives of the students that take part and that a big change it makes tot here wider thinking and every day lessons. I have loved every session and I am now going to be going over to Rwanda for a month to teach the programme.
