Story
Hello Everyone! Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving webpage.
As some of you will know (because I’ve been ranting about how unfit I am), I will be running the Berlin Marathon on Sunday 25th September 2016.
It has been a long journey over the past year trying to transform myself from Homer Simpson to Mo Farrah, but surprising as it may be to you all, I’m saddened to announce I haven’t quite achieved the athletic accolade of Mo Farrah. However, this minor glitch will not stop me from persevering with my challenge to complete this 26-mile run in epic style!
‘How?’ You may be asking, well it is simple, I’m determined to finish knowing the money I raise with your kind donations will go to a truly deserving charity that have helped my family endlessly and continues to do so to this day.
The Ear Trust is a charity created by Professor Chris Raine, an ear, nose and throat consultant who operated on my younger brother, Victor, who was born profoundly deaf. A cochlear implant was inserted and this one operation has given Victor a lifetime of hearing. This has changed our lives dramatically and with your donations, we can help more families by giving their loved ones the gift of hearing.
I am thankful every day for the hard working and dedicated audiology team at Bradford Royal Infirmary who work tirelessly to deliver an extraordinary service for their patients. I am also thankful to my parents who have given me the best present an older sister could wish for, because above all else I am blessed to have a baby brother (he’s 22, but still a baby in my eyes!) like Victor who brings light and laughter to our family with his witty charm and who smells like a wet dog most of the time, which is what most brothers are good at doing!
Please donate whatever you can to help me raise money for The Ear Trust.
