Mount Denali Challenge, 22 May 2017
We train people to use effective methods to help children trumatised by war/disaster

Story

Roxanne and Dennis have started doing the 7 Summit Challenge, climbing seven highest mountains on each continent. We have done Mt Elbrus (Europe), Mont Blanc (also Europe but Western), Aconcagua (South America) and, most difficult of all, Mt Kosciuszko, Australia.

Since the war in Ukraine started, we have also been going to Ukraine training mental health professionals in how to recognize and treat psychological trauma in children. We have found the Children and War Foundation to be extremely generous with their time and expertise. It is now time to say thank you properly and to raise some money for the Foundation to keep doing their amazing work.

About the charity

We develop group methods to help children adjust to the stress of war and disasters. We train local people to run skills groups for children and evaluate effectiveness. We currently work with partners in Syria, Ukraine, the West Bank: and disasters in Nepal, Pakistan. We always put children first.
