Story
On the 1st of May 2016, Alex and I are undertaking the gruelling challenge that is Tough Mudder!
For those of you that are not aware... Tough Mudder is a 12 mile run with obstacles along the way, which include sliding into a skip filled with ice and being electrocuted... Sounds fantastic doesn't it?!! To find out more about the event so that you can laugh even more at the hell that we will be putting ourselves through, you may want to visit the Tough Mudder page, which can be found here: https://toughmudder.co.uk/events/2016-london-west
I am completing this challenge with the view to raise money for Carers Bucks. This charity is local to myself and they do amazing work to support carers who look after individuals with a range of mental health and physical issues including dementia. Some of you may know that I have both personal and professional experience with individuals with dementia and I cannot express enough how amazing people are to care for these individuals and the difficulties that they struggle through on a daily basis. Many of these individuals have very little support from friends or family and simply need a couple of hours break to have time for themselves. This support is where carers bucks come in and without their efforts to give carers respite and support to claim the right benefits and deal with the behaviour of their loved one, these brave individuals would be struggling alone.
It would make the mud, freezing cold and sore limbs worthwhile to know that some money will go towards helping Carers Bucks to support these fantastic people who care for their family members or friends. If you can, please spare a penny or a thought for this great cause and for me.... getting very cold and very muddy...
