Story

Goyt Valley & The Shining Tors
I'M BACK!!!!!

After setting myself a challenge to raise £4000 for 4 charities by walking 400 miles during the course of 2012 in the company of Large Outdoors I found myself barely able to move due to the ongoing problems with my back - taking my surgeons advice an abrupt end came to my challenge.  After many MRI Scans and ongoing treatment I'm back :-)

A challenge is not a challenge unless it tests your abilities and capabilites - so taking it easier I have returned to complete what I set out to do.  This will take me into 2013 but better late than NEVER!

Walks I completed in 2012 so far are:

9 miles - Goyt Valley & Shining Tor
13 miles - Glydr Fawr - just over 1000mtr and by far my scariest walk to date!!!!
11 miles - White Nancy & Bollington
11 miles - Chee Dales & Millers Dale
13 miles - Lathkill Dale & Nine Ladies Stones
26 miles - Yorkshire Three Peak Challenge
14 miles - Longstone Edge, Bakewell & Monsall Head

98 miles - just 302 to go!!!!

There are plenty of new walks for me to book and I will be experiencing many more mountains with the guys from Large Outdoors during the course of the 2013!

All for a good cause and each of the Charities I have chosen are all in need of your support.

I will be posting each of my walks as I complete them, keeping you up to date of my progress.

I have been to the most beautiful places, seen the most wonderful scenerey and made some lovely friends along the way.

Hope you enjoy my pictures, my journey and most of all watching me reach my target.

Remember: Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never share them with anyone or send you unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. They'll make sure Gift Aid (an additional 28%) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer, too. That means more money goes to the charity, faster, with JustGiving.

Thanks for taking the time to read and many more thanks for helping me.

"Your support is appreciated and I send a huge hug to you all"!

I have chosen Moebius as one of my charities simply becuase a gentlement called Iain Whyte connected with me on linked in, a fellow member of BNI and his story touched my heart.  I decided to add an extra 100 miles to my journey and share the fundraising.

Moebius syndrome is a rare neurological disorder that is present at birth.  It primarily affects the 6th and 7th cranial nerves, leaving those with the condition unable to move their faces (they can’t smile, frown, suck, grimace or blink their eyes) and unable to move their eyes laterally.

Other cranial nerves may be affected, especially the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 9th, 10th and 12th.  There may be skeletal involvement causing hand/feet anomalies and/or club feet. Respiratory problems, speech and swallowing disorders, visual impairments, sensory integration dysfunction, sleep disorders, and weak upper body strength may also be present.  Approximately 30% of children with Moebius syndrome are on the autism spectrum and would like to add just a tiny amount ot help them!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
