We support high quality research to improve music therapy in the UK.
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Diane. I am 11 years old and have been blessed to be playing two wonderful instruments; the violin (for the last 8 years) and the piano since I was 5 years old.
Music plays a very important part in my life. Thanks to my wonderful teachers, I have learnt a lot about musical harmony, composers and their songs, music notes, theory and history... More than this, music has made me a better person because it has helped me with my studies, with building a strong memory and generally with feeling happy about myself and my life. As I look back on the last 8 years, I can see that I have made great progress from the first notes I plucked on my violin to playing Seitz or Martini in front of old folks in their retirement homes (see video).
Music has given me lots of joy and happiness which I would like to share with people less fortunate than me which is why I have decided to raise money for a little known but amazing foundation, The Music Therapy. This Charity was formed in 1969 to promote and support the activities of music therapists. Its main funding is to music therapy research and bursaries for music therapists in training. It is the only funding body in the UK specifically supporting high quality research into what treatment outcomes can be expected with a course of music therapy. It does not matter if you are a musician yourself or not or what type of music you like. I am sure that you will agree with me that turning on a classical, a jazz, a pop or a rock song can make us better people, remind us of great stories and make us feel great! Thanks for helping The Music Therapy by donating generously and as you do so, let me know which is your favourite song! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
