Story
Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers. Fairtrade supports farmers and workers in gaining more from trade and through this they are empowered to control their lives. It is an alternative approach that is based on partnership; one between those who grow our food and those that consume it.
Your support will enable the Fairtrade Foundation to:
Bring Fairtrade to more farmers and workers. Donations have helped bring Fairtrade to new countries, like Guyana, Lebanon and Uzbekistan, and to new product areas, such as cotton and gold.
Deepen the benefits of Fairtrade. Providing the skills farmers need to succeed - recent work in Côte d’Ivoire has involved training cocoa farmers in contract negotiation and how to fight for their legal rights.
Help spread the word about Fairtrade. Persuading more shoppers to go Fairtrade, helping Fairtrade farmers sell more of their produce and work their way out of poverty.
