Story
A team of 10 of us are aiming to cycle the 850 miles (+ however miles extra due to getting lost or searching for good pubs) from Salford Cathedral to the Pyrenean town of Lourdes to raise money for the Salford Diocese Children and Families group. All the money donated will be used to pay for children with disabilities / special needs and their families to travel with the Salford Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes in 2016.
We have set ourselves a target of raising an average of £800 per cyclist, as that is the cost for taking each child.
Some things to consider before donating:
- Until April 2016, I had only been on a bike 3 times in the previous 20 years (and I fell off on at least 2 of these occasions)
- We will be cycling 850+ miles in 12 days which is at least double the amount of miles I will have ever done before
- We will be doing up to 90 miles per day - Now go and look at the picture of what I will be sitting on during these miles.
We really appreciate anything that you can afford to donate. It will go a long way to helping a child with disabilities / special needs very happy.
