Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a rare muscle wasting condition afflicting boys from a young age, which in turn, dramatically reduces their life expectancy. Although research is ongoing to find potential treatments for this condition, there are limited options available.
I have been blessed with 2 healthy boys and fully appreciate how lucky I am.

I want to try and raise £5000 for these boys and their families so that their time together is focused on quality of life. 

In order to raise this money, I shall be swimming the 10 KM open water swim down the River Dart on 3rd September this year. I have started my training earlier this year and I hope to complete the course in 2.5 hours. This seems an insignificant amount of discomfort compared to the daily challenges these boys and their families face.
