I am doing this for UKPIPS which is a small charity ran by volunteers to support patients like myself with Common Variable Immunodeficiency which is a Primary Immune Disease that despite its name is a relatively rare condition. This is not a big corporate charity with lots of funding behind for advertising and a paid workforce so every little helps. UKPIPS provides support for patients and carers and helps raise awareness among the community and the medical professionals with the aim to improve diagnosis and therefore earlier treatment for those that suffer. Currently average time to diagnosis is at least 10 years which for many of us is too late before permanent damage has already occurred.
