Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On 12th April 2015, seven members of Edale Mountain Rescue Team are running the Yorkshire 1/2 Marathon, carrying a team stretcher (weighing nearly 30kg) all the way round the 13.1 mile course!

The running stretcher party aim to raise as much money as possible to support the mountain rescue team in their day to day work, whilst pushing themselves at the same time. The team and the runners would be very grateful if you could donate whatever you can to get us through each heavy mile.

Edale Mountain Rescue Team receives little central funding from government and we rely entirely on donations to raise the money we need to run the team, which is generally in the region of £50,000 per annum. All monies raised are used to improve the service we offer to the public by investing in equipment maintenance and renewal, training for members, running our 3 response vehicles and 1 search control vehicle; as well as planning for a secure financial future for the team

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
