Team ER (Rhona, Eddie, Dougie, Lorraine, Sammy, Jonny, Stuart & Pamela) are cycling round Millport on Sunday 5th June to raise money for the charity Finding your Feet. We're well aware that this isn't a massive gruelling challenge unlike others that people participate in but for some of us who haven't been on a bike for nearly 10 years it probably will be!!
The charity was set up in 2014, by Corinne Hutton who had a quadruple amputation (both hands and legs) as a result of septicaemia. In June 2013, Corinne was admitted to hospital with suspected pneumonia. Within 20 hours she had contracted septicaemia and suffered total organ failure. At that point Doctors suggested she had only a 5% of survival.
Corinne has made a remarkable recovery. Amongst other things, she was part of the Queen's Baton Relay at the Commonwealth Games and takes part and organises numerous activities to raise awareness and support for people who have gone through life changing trauma. She has such an inspirational and brave attitude. She is one amazing lady.
