We've created this page to raise money and awareness for Melanoma Focus UK in the memory of Ed Shaylor - who lost his life to Melanoma in May, 2013 aged just 34.

Last July, work colleagues from ITV Sport, led by Sarah Nurse, took part in the British 10k raising over £2,000 in Ed’s memory which we are incredibly grateful for. Ed's family and friends continue to fundraise so if there is anything you can donate however small we'd be incredibly grateful. 

Ed's story: After visiting the GP with a mole on his leg, Ed was diagnosed with Melanoma skin cancer in 2009. Ed received immediate treatment and went on to live a healthy life, getting married in 2010 and welcoming the arrivial of his son Ben in 2011.

In 2012, sadly Ed’s cancer returned and had spread to his liver, lungs and within months had spread to his bones and brain. Ed received incredible treatment from the Queen Elizabeth hospital, Birmingham and care from Macmillan support but sadly died sixth months after the disease had spread.

Melanoma is the UK’s fastest-growing cancer, with around 12,000 new cases every year – a fourfold increase since the 1970s. It is becoming more and more common in the UK, where it is the 6th most common cancer – with more women than men affected. It is the most common form of cancer in young adults. Launched in October 2012, Melanoma Focus is a new national charity set up to concentrate efforts in the fight against melanoma and skin cancer.
