Having taught in the UK since 2008 I have decided to volunteer abroad for a year, with an NGO working on teacher development in schools in north western Uganda. 

I will be working as part of a small team to facilitate support programmes designed to empower local teachers by making learning more engaging, interactive, and effective. It promises to be an absolutely thrilling challenge.

Red Earth believes that rather than just providing resources, supporting the development of teaching skills is the best way to support local ownership of developing good practice in teaching and learning and is the best way to ensure sustainable improvement into the future.
