Story
Dear wonderful friends and family,
On July 1st, I will turn 27 and have decided this year that I would like to fundraise for a special mental health charity in our community- JAMI (Jewish Association for Mental Illness).
Please give as much or as little as you can, any donation is so appreciated! JAMI does such good work- befriending, carers service, hospital visits, recovery day centres, mental health awareness, employment service and so much more. Here is a little about JAMI- and thank you so much for contributing to my birthday appeal. Lots of love, Eleanor x
- About JAMI:
Jami was set up in 1989 by parents, relatives and friends of people who suffered from mental health problems.
For those affected by mental health issues such as bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, depression and eating disorders, life can be extremely difficult. Often there is a breakdown of the home and family life, jobs are lost and the situation can spiral out of control.
Jami’s focus is on recovery; it is a major milestone for some to simply get out of bed in the morning and get dressed to go to one of Jami’s day centres. For others, moving to voluntary work or even paid employment may, for the first time, be an achievable goal. Jami is committed to helping members fulfil their individual potential, maximise their self-esteem and progress along their own unique recovery path.
