Story

In exactly one month time I shall be heading off to Africa to climb Mt Kilimanjaro. I shall be taking on this 6 day challenge so that I can raise money for the Cancer Vaccine Institute.

You may know that my Brother's beautiful fiancée Lucy unfortunately died of malignant melanoma in December 2011. Prior to Lucy's death she was receiving a number of experimental trials of vaccines through the CVI which proved to have remarkable effects on her health and quality of life enabling Lucy to attend parties, weddings and to live a normal life.

Mt Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Tanzania, the highest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing mountain in the world at 5895 metres. Many climbers do not reach the summit due to their rapid ascent resulting in acute mountain sickness. I will be taking 5 days to reach the top and just one to get down!

To date 53k has been raised in memory of Lucy for the CVI and I am supporting the vision to reach 100k. This year marks my 28th birthday and the age that Lucy unfortunately passed away at. I will therefore be asking for donations to the CVI rather than any gifts.

Thanks
