My mum was diagnosed with Birdshot 2 years ago. This is a potentially blinding, rare eye condition that effects her in everyday life. It is an auto immune disease which is genetic and it is thought that less that 200 people in the UK have it. This means her own immune system is attacking her eyes. There is no cure so I am hoping to raise funds to improve treatment and increase public awareness. She is currently undergoing treatment including steroids and immunosuppressant's. This year she has pledged to raise as much money as possible to help with research into this life affecting disease.

So I'm trying to play my part and help by running the Great North Run in September 2016. We will find a cure one day.
