Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I decided to go sober for October as a personal challenge, and then having received research support on a recent film project I am working on from Oasis Domestic Abuse Service in Margate I thought it seemed fitting to try and raise a bit of money for them..

Did you know that 1 in 4 women in the UK will experience some form of domestic abuse in their lifetime, and on average 2 women a week in the UK are killed by a current or former male partner?

Oasis are an incredible charity that not only provide a safe and secure place for women and their children to live (the point of leaving and the time after leaving are the most dangerous), but they also offer a range of services from counselling to help with housing. I have recently visited the refuge and met some women who live there and a number of staff members - the work they do is so important.

Please do send a few quid their way, and wish me luck staying sober for October...
