Story
It was the suggestion of Penny that, in lieu of flowers, a memorial fund be set up in her name to collect for Hospice at Home.
Penny was working as a Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist in the community based at Eden Valley Hospice when she became ill in the middle of November last year. Most of Penny's career over the past 25 years was involved directly in the provision of palliative or related care.
For the end of her own life and in accordance with her wishes Penny was able to be at home, in the beautiful house that she had made with Dave, looking out across her garden and the fields to the Cumbrian fells. This was made possible by the compassionate care provided by Hospice at Home and the District Nurses for the three weeks she was at home.
