I have been selected to represent Girlguiding from the London and South East Region of England in Uganda in August 2016 and I will be doing charity work in the village of Kabubbu with the Quicken Trust (www.quickentrust.com). The Quicken Trust is a Sussex based charity that has been working in the village of Kabubbu in rural Uganda since 2000, in the past fifteen years they have built a primary school, a secondary school, a medical centre, a small tourist resort and have upgraded many homes from mud huts to brick buildings. In Kabubbu I will be doing building work, farming and helping the local children by teaching literacy lessons and teaching foster mothers how to play with their children. I am going to be going to Uganda in a team of fourteen girls including myself and four leaders.
To go on this trip I have to fundraise £3000 in a very short space of time. I am going to do the majority of my fundraising myself and a small amount will be raised as a group. I have events that I am currently planning such as bag packing and cake sales and as a group we will be selling cloth badges along with an activity pack for Girlguiding units to purchase and complete, as well as any other organisations who would like to buy the badges.
Any donations that you can make would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much.
