Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are taking part in Hell and Back at night on the 22nd of October in aid of Huntington's Association Ireland . Huntington's Disease is a rare, life limiting neurodegenerative disease that affects around 700 Irish people with a further 3000 at risk ( 2011 figs.) There is currently no cure, children with a parent affected have a 50% chance of inheriting the disease. Huntington's Disease Association of Ireland ( HDAI ) is a voluntary organization which provides consultation, information and support for those diagnosed, their families and their care team. HDAI depends greatly on donations and fundraising. "We need our heads examined" is a campaign led by the Neurological Association of Ireland ( NAI ) and supported by HDAI which is fighting for the government to tackle the critical shortage of rehabilitation and support services which is shockingly underfunded in Ireland. We are taking part for all those affected by this heartbreaking disease and their families.
