Story

Keen mountain walker John Baker has always had a dream to
climb Kilimanjaro and leaped at the challenge when it was suggested by John McGovern who is always up for a challenge and has thrown himself into getting fit.  He said “We have spent months talking about getting fit and doing something and when this opportunity came up to do something amazing for ourselves and to contribute to the wider work of Emmaus, we all felt it was an opportunity that was too good to let slip through our fingers”.

They need to raise £6,800 between them which will be used
to support new communities like the one which is due to open shortly in
Liverpool.  Emmaus Merseyside has just finished building work at its new community site in Seaforth and is looking forward to taking in their first companions.  The early days are the hardest for any community and any help is gratefully received while they are getting established.
