One afternoon as my sister lay in a hospital bed battling leukemia, I asked, "why is this happening to you?"  She responded, "why is it happening to a seven year old girl in my neighborhood?"

Even at the very end my sister was full of compassion for others. I became a father a year after losing her and I want to honor her love for children and humanity by giving back to a world that has given so much to me.
