Story
I've always been aware of the 268 mile Pennine Way walk which starts at the Derbyshire village of Edale and finishes at the borders of Scotland. And I've always had a vague idea that it was something I should do before I turn 40. Well I'm 40 this September so I figure if I'm going to have a midlife crisis it should involve physical fitness and benefit a certain section of the furry community very much underrepresented and extremely misunderstood.
Rabbits are the third most popular pet in the UK, and yet many live miserable lives confined to small hutches with little or no space, companionship or exercise. Bunnies need space and bunnies need friends! The Rabbit Welfare Association and Fund aims to improve the lives of these beautiful, intelligent and neglected animals. Because Rabbits deserve better!
The only missing piece to this vague, half formed imagining was a buddy to walk with. So on the off chance I posted on Facebook and BAM within a minute my good friend Jenny Hack was like 'hell yeah let's do it!' Jenny has chosen to support Rowcroft Hospice and their invaluable work providing specialist palliative and end of life care and she has also chosen to support The ME Association. Jenny suffers from Fibromyalgia which makes her decision to tackle this challenge all the more awesome in my eyes.
That is all. Please donate and thank you.
