Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Since the devastating earthquake that took place in Nepal on Saturday 25th April, the children and families Esland support through the My Small Help charity are fighting to survive.
As you will have read in the media, over 4,000 people are now confirmed dead and the living conditions of many people in Katmandu and the surrounding areas have deteriorated rapidly.
The children Esland supports through the My Small Help Orphanage have been sleeping outside in a field due to the building itself being damaged and the region still receiving after-shocks from the earthquake that makes it unsafe to sleep indoors. Food is also in short supply and there is virtually no access to medication needed. On top of this, the high demand for basic living items has pushed inflation up and made prices soar.
As you can appreciate, the people of Nepal are in desperate need of our help . Please give what you can.
Esland's link to My Small Help
Esland has forged meaningful links with a charity called ‘My Small Help’. This brilliant charity aims to provide immediate assistance to people in need whilst developing a long term sustainable income plan, negating the need for further handouts, thus avoiding a culture of dependency.
Esland proudly sponsors 12 children in Nepal; each one being assigned to one of our residential children’s homes or schools. Our registered managers have subsequently put up a photo of the child they sponsor in their home; engaging the young people we look after in fundraising events and educating them about the geography, demographics and living conditions of people who live in some of the poorest parts of the world.
