Story
In one of the most out of character things I've ever done, on the 16th September, I did a tandem skydive from 13,000 feet accelerating to 120mph after exiting the aeroplane and then parachuting the final 5,000 feet. My reasons for doing this ludicrous thing was to raise money for a Charity that I believe is doing some incredible and much needed work. Headway Birmingham & Solihull is a UK-wide charity that works to improve life after brain injury. Previously not knowing much about this, I recently witnessed brain injury and am seeing the repercussions that it has.
Brain injury can challenge every aspect of your life – walking, talking, thinking and feeling – and the losses can be severe and permanent. It can mean losing both the life you once lived and the person you once were. At Headway, people use insight and care to help survivors regain some quality of life through a wide range of services, including rehabilitation programmes, carer support, social re-integration, community outreach and respite care.
For all the reasons above, I ask you give what few pounds and pennies you can towards this great cause - I honestly wouldn't be doing something so terrifying unless it was a cause that I really believe helps a lot of people. Anything is appreciated, thank you :)
