Story
Two years ago the SMT embarked on the Yorkshire Three Peaks
challenge and concurred them. This time the SMT are tackling the UK’s
three highest peaks, Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon.
They will be splitting into 3 teams, and will walk the three peaks simultaneously.
Team Blue - Ben Nevis – David Wilson and Alan Milligan
Team White - Scafell Pike – Graham Parker and Paul Neal, Joined by Chris Saunders and Carl Read
Team Red – Snowdon – Lois Heywood, Lucy Moore and Marc Yardley, Joined by Katie Ainscow
We are inviting anybody local to the peaks to join us if
they would like to give moral support, guidance (a piggy back!). Please check with your line manager that you can join us!
To add a little competition it will be a race to the
top. Our independent adjudicator and super fit Head of IT, Alan Churchward, will issue each team with a “optimum time to the summit” and the team reaching closest to their optimum time are the winners.
If you are kind enough to sponsor us, please state with your donation your allegiance to which team you are supporting. Once again the SMT will be in competition with each other to raise the most money.
The Asset Solutions offices will also be taking part in this event holding many different activities all to raise money for The Children's Air Ambulance.
The Children’s air ambulance fly critically ill children across the UK to the specialist care they need. The longer a sick child is out of hospital, the greater the risk. The helicopter not only flies fast, but also serves as a flying intensive care unit for children. The Air Ambulance can deliver children to safety approximately four times faster than transport by road. At the moment every day in the UK, there are two children who need this help, currently there is only capacity to reach one in every three children.
