Story

Guys

This is Dave - This is the man we will be working hard for to do his name proud and make sure he is never forgotten.

Word from Darren Clark...
I am so proud to enter a team in memory of my dad Dave Kilbride who died 15th may 2013.
Having only met Dave 14 yrs ago, he was so pleased that I found him and the fact that his son shared his love for football ! But not so when I told him I supported Chelsea, Him being "A Gunner " didn't go down to well. lol. Several meetings with Dave and lots of memorys ( didn't help that he had ALZHEIMERS ) LOL. Some great times repeating meself !!!!! and he was pleased when I told him he had 3 granddaughters, Danielle, Isobel and Charlotte. This made life worth living and he said he was like a new man. Several yrs past and he met my Stepmum Julie and got married and our family grew again and I can honestly say he was definitely A family man and enjoyed our visits to Southampton where he lived with Julie. ( no Clarkys a scummer comments please wink emoticon ) Dave was a butcher from Wycombe by trade and then went on to serve our country before settling in Southampton. it was late February 2013 when I had a call from Julie and my world was to turn upside with Dave going in for checkups after a throat infection when the doctor found that he had CANCER and was told it could be treated, but once he went in I think he new he wasn't coming out as I think he thought he was in with the nurses ?! wink emoticon The cancer got worse and Dave slowly deteriated and we spent the last few weeks reminiscing about our short time together and all the days in the navy and me telling him and his bedmates all about FFC and what they do and the support this close network of FRIENDS do for each other. He BEAMED with pride that his son and friends were doing there bit to fight this thing that had beaten him. I spent the last few hrs with my DAD and I know a year on he will absolutely proud of what FFCs about !!

Thanks everyone for inviting me in to the FFC family and I promise I will do my best to raise awareness of what we are about xx FFC THROUGH AND THROUGH XX

This is what it is all about guys!! lets brake some records this year and play our socks off.
