Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I am cycling from Leeds to Brighton setting off on July 27th at 10am from Leeds Civic Hall.  I am raising money for the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Charity and hope to arrive at Brighton Pavillion on Monday 1st August (Yorkshire Day) at about 5pm.  The Lord Mayor of Leeds, my old friend Gerry Harper, will be seeing me off and my good friend and colleague, Keith Vaz, will meet me in his Leicester constituency, half way to London.  I will set off from Parliament on Monday 1st August, after a couple of days rest, for the last leg of the journey to Brighton, arriving that afternoon.

I chose the PKD charity because two constituents came to see me last year asking for my help with funding research into Polycystic Kidney Disease. My late Mother, Adrianne, died eleven years ago of kidney disease, so helping kidney patients has always been close to my heart. Please give generously to this little-known charity which is trying hard to find a cure for a horrible hereditary condition which damages and restricts the lives of its sufferers.
