We are an active fundraiser for the Children’s Hospice, Ty Hafan, based in Sully, South Wales, and our team, suppliers and customers have raised over £6000 to date.
In 2016, we want to go a step further and have an organised event to raise even more money for this worthy cause - this is how the idea for our Rainbow Rally came about.
It was important that we created a fun, family-orientated event to allow everyone involved to fully enjoy the experience, while fundraising along the way.
Participants in the rally will have a budget of £300 to purchase a car, paint it in rainbow colours (you can be as creative as you like!), drive from our branch at Abercarn, stop at designated check points, and undergo certain 'fun' challenges along the way in order to raise points. The participant/s with the most points accumulated at the end of the rally wins!
We chose the rainbow theme to represent Ty Hafan's annual rainbow run in which powder paint is thrown at the participants, and to also continue the charity's fun-filled approach to raising money.
Tŷ Hafan offers comfort, care and support to life-limited children, young people and their families, helping them make the most of the time they have left together. The charity needs over £4million every year to provide this unique service free of charge to families in Wales, and it receives less than 5% contribution from the local government.
The Fast Parts Wales, Ty Hafan, Rainbow Family Rally will take place from 1 to 2 May and we are looking to raise £11,000. If successful, it will become an annual event, so please be generous and get behind us to support this worthy cause!
With a £100 entry fee, we are hoping to get 20 cars involved. Although £2000 would be a great kick start, it's still way off the £10,958 target we have set. Please donate in any way you can to help us achieve our ambitious target as this is the figure required to run the hospice for one day!
You will be making an enormously positive impact on the lives of many young children that rely on the support of events like this.
