Bosnia, is a country that has been through a devastating war. The war has left permanent marks on the citizens in Bosnia, such as the loss of family members, poverty and much more. However, its effect on children is much more devastating whose whole future lives are dependent on the education and love they get at present.

As part of The Heathland School, me and 11 other students will be aiming to reach £1000 individually, to donate towards Our Kids Foundation [OKF] charity.

Our Kids Foundation charity organises trips and fun days out for the orphans living in Egipatsko Selo orphanage. These trips are organised to provide care, improve the confidence and socialising skills for the children living there. Furthermore, if I do reach £1000, I will be part of the group who would visit the orphanage in July for two weeks, and meet the children personally, cheer them up and make them realise the world love them and care for them. This project is a huge opportunity to the children living in Bosnia, with no parents. It not only provides hope for them, and increases their joy of life. It also provides to those children a life changing happiness, as it is a fun, exciting and new process for them to meet students of other countries. The money raised will be used on the orphans there, my parents have promised to pay for my travel expenses, to Mostar, Bosnia.

Not only I am raising money by frequent cupcake sales and bucketing, I will also, hopefully be taking part in marathons. Once these marathons are booked, I shall provide more detail.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for me to be part of this charity, and I really hope I am able to raise this money, because the smiles, on the children's faces, would definitely be worth it.
