Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
In September 2003, at the age of 16, our great friend Lucy Ford suffered a brain haemorrhage. Despite the best actions of the medical team on the Isle of Arran and the Sea King crew she died two days later in the Southern General in Glasgow.
We have decided to mark the ten year anniversary of her death by setting ourselves a challenge that she would have loved to raise some money for two very worthwhile charities.
We will be embarking on Tough Mudder August 2013, a hardcore 13 mile assault course designed by special forces to test strength, stamina, determination and camaraderie. It Involves swimming through rivers, running through fire and being repeatedly electrocuted. Yes, really!
We're determined to do this as a team for the Clarke Lister Foundation which supports surviving victims and families of those affected by brain haemorrhage, promotes research into causes and treatments and raises awareness.
We are also supporting the Arran Mountain Rescue. Lucy loved the outdoors and they do a fantastic job keeping walkers and climbers safe on the hills of Arran.
Many thanks in anticipation of your supporI. If you see me in the next few months and I'm not out training, please just remind me about the electricity. Or what Rachael Maclean will say if she finds out!!
