'WHAT ARE YOU FIGHTING FOR?..."
...is the theme of this years IT Industry CRN Fight Night White Collar Boxing match (http://www.crnfightnight.com/). Out of 220 applicants I was selected to be one of the 18 contenders fighting in one of the 9 bouts at the 26th May 2016 charity fundraising event.
Since 2008 poachers have killed at least 5,940 African rhinos......
Rhino poaching is currently at a crisis point. 1,175 rhinos were poached in South Africa during 2015 alone.
Please help me fight for Rhinos by supporting the charity called 'Saving the Survivors'. Creating Hope from Hurt.
http://savingthesurvivors.org/ and their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/savingthesurvivors
Project SAVE THE SURVIVORS was specifically started in 2012 to care and look after rhino that has fallen victim to poaching or traumatic incidents. This includes rhinos that have been wounded, rhinos where the horn has been hacked off, and victims of snaring and traumatic incidents even orphaned babies that still need their mothers for at least a year and a half are left for dead. Rhino survivors are estimated at between 80 and 120 animals per year that will benefit from this project. This number will increase as the amount of poached rhinos increase.
People don't realise what is left in the wake of a poached Rhino. And you cannot transport the animal for care as it needs to be treated right there in the bush. This is surgical conservation.
I therefore want to be an inspirational example of the fight for survival against seemingly insurmountable odds. Rhino's struggle to claim back their lives and their dignity must become our fight to change human behaviour and restore value and respect and care for all living things.
Every one is worth saving. From the 65,000 Black Rhino population in the 1970's there are only 4,000 left on the planet today.
Please help them....for one day your child will come up to you and ask..Mom... Dad... what did a Rhinoceros look like.
I am allowing myself to be hurt. and out of that hurt will come hope.
Anything you can give will be mostly appreciated.
We owe it to these animals to do our best to save them.
I thank you in advance.
