Story

UPDATE!  Today I completed the second half, 44km, of the London to Brighton challenge on behalf of Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land.  I had been reluctant to ask for more donations as my knee has been so bad that I genuinely had not expected to finish, but....success!   So, many thanks to EVERYONE who has donated and if anyone would now like to top up the pot, with however small an amount, there would be many grateful equines out there. Thank you!

On May 28th Louise Pearl and I are walking the second half of the London to Brighton Challenge:  http://www.london2brightonchallenge.com/ , starting at Turner's Hill and finishing in Brighton.  This is a total of 44km which we will be completing in rather a lot of hours at rather a steady pace!

I chose to raise money for Safe Haven for Donkeys in the Holy Land because I feel that smaller charities can sometimes be rather overlooked. Then, when I visited this charity's website http://www.safehaven4donkeys.org/ and saw the amazing and very necessary work they do at home and in the Near East, and how appallingly badly treated many of the donkeys are, I decided that I really had to do something, however small.

At at time when so may people in this region are experiencing such difficulties and privation, inevitably their animals also suffer.  This charity is doing its best to improve the lives of the donkeys through education, veterinary assistance and rescue.

Finally I believe that at some point we may just about walk past the front door of the charity, which is based near Haywards Heath, which made my support for it seem even more appropriate.

Please help however you can - every little helps!

Fiona xx
