Hans Florine and I are raising money for the BMC to help protect our wilderness areas for our children's future.

On 10th September 2015 world famous speed climber Hans Florine, has invited me to join with him - to attempt his world record 100th ascent of The Nose.

The Nose of El Capitan is the most famous rock climb in the world. It is regarded by climbers as the Holy Grail of climbs. It is one of the steepest and most difficult climbs on Earth - a 3000 foot sheer cliff of vertical granite in Yosemite Valley, California. For me, as a "mere amateur" climber, attempting it in my 50th year - it is my next ultimate personal challenge. A normal time to climb the wall is 3-6 days. I will try my best to do it in less.

I may have skied to both Poles, and even solo'd the South Pole previously, but this undertaking is no less challenging or daunting than anything I've done before.  As well as raising money, I want to continue inspiring people to seek out their own life goals - whatever they may be.
