Story
In 2003 our friends started the Turning Pont Trust when they researched the needs of children in danger of going on the streets in Kibera, Kenya's largest slum.
From a bowl full of porridge and 5 kids, they have set up 3 children's centres and a school, a microfinance project for the parents and a farm for slum families to start a new life.
In our 9 years living in Nairobi we saw first hand what a great job they are doing, and their innovative ideas.
With a Kenyan pastor on the team from the start, they are creating opportunities for vulnerable children and families to reach their God-given potential.
Collins is a musician who loves to make up his own songs, but at16 he was homeless and unable to read or write. Turning Point was able to reconnect him with an uncle who he now lives with, teach him for a year so that he could join primary school, and he has worked his way up to the equivalent of UK year 10.
