We provide information & encourage research to support people affected by fragile X

Story

ForeverFit Club are holding a Team Challenge outside the Tontine Hotel, Peebles on Saturday 2nd April 2016 between 10am and 4pm in aid of The Fragile X Society.  Hopefully 8 teams of 12 people will be competing to make their way (virtually) from John O'Groats as far down the country as possible in a sponsored spin-a-thon.

One of our members Gillian McDonald and her husband Craig have 17 year old twin boys (Stuart and Matthew) who both have Fragile X Syndrome.

The charity is very much the first port of call upon receiving diagnosis, and the Family Support Workers provide invaluable support and information to families like the McDonalds, as well as to education and health professionals who have not come across Fragile X Syndrome before.  They are then at hand to provide ongoing support throughout life, particularly as difficult situations arise (challenging behaviour, lack of support in schooling, behavioural therapies) and as individuals go through transition periods in their lives (eg leaving Primary School to go to Secondary School, leaving education, children' s services to adult support services).

We would love you to support us in this cause and thank you for your donation however big or small, every penny makes a difference.

Thank you.
