Story
Tracy and her sisters Debra & Mandy & family personal story:
When Tracy’s mum, Veronica, fell ill, this fantastic charity provided her with excellent palliative care; the nurses were lovely and caring and made the last couple of weeks of Tracy’s, Debra’s and Mandy’s mum's life as comfortable as possible.
The Hospice at Home team are part of the NHS separate to Macmillan and are a voluntary service set up as part of the Betsi Cadwalader Health Board. They operate a charitable fund to buy equipment to help promote patients comfort. The Hospice at Home service has recently celebrated ten years of service. In 2005, the night service was introduced into the Flintshire locality in order to provide palliative nursing care and support for patients and their families with a life limiting illness. Over the past ten years this service has developed significantly and now this service offers both day & night support throughout North East Wales.
Tracy was such a popular member of the Darwin Escapes team, and when she was tragically taken earlier this year, her colleagues decided to undertake this 26 mile walk in her memory to raise much-needed funds for a charity which was dear to her heart.
On Monday 27th June, we'll set off from Aberconwy Resort and Spa and walk the North Wales Coastal Path to Talacre Beach Holiday Home Park, where Darwin Escapes' Head Office is located, and where Tracy worked in our H.R Department.
