It's that time of year again when we at Fortune Works look to raise some funds via our annual Sponsored Walk. Previous walks have been a great success and we have raised enough money for outdoor equipment for our walking group and a defibrillator for the centre.

This year we aim to raise enough to refurbish our café as we have expanded so much in recent years that we are now providing more breakfasts, lunches and snacks than ever. As you would imagine the café is at the centre of Fortune Works and is really now at the point where it needs an upgrade to cope with demand.

When looking at a route for this year's walk we thought about the fact that it is the 60th anniversary for Enable Glasgow and a time for reflection on all the different supports they have offered. As such we decided that it would be nice to include some of these different supports in the walk and thus came up with our "Round the Services" route.

This means we will be completing a ten mile walk on Saturday 1st October 2016 which will see us setting off from Fortune Works to Balshagray House, Esmond Street (Enable Glasgow's new Head Office) and finishing at Alder Road (our residential service) in the Mansewood area of Glasgow.

We are all looking forward to the walk and with your continued and much appreciated support we aim to raise as much money as possible to ensure our café is as pleasant an environment as possible for all our service users and that they enjoy the best service possible.
