Story
Thank you for visiting our team fundraising page.
Training is now well underway as we attempt to push ourselves to the very limit by taking on the Three Peaks Challenge.
This challenge involves walking the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours!
The challenge starts in Scotland at Ben Nevis, which at, 1,344 metres, or 4,409 ft is the tallest of the three. From there we will drive south into the Lake District where we will climb Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft).The final of the three is the Welsh mountain, Snowdon, standing at 1,085 m, 3,560 ft.
We will set off on the 1st of July from Liverpool Lime Street, with the aim of raising money for The Wood Street Mission which is a charity dedicated to helping families affected by poverty. The charity is used by many services, including maternity services, to help provide basic, everyday supplies which many of us take for granted. Donated items such as a Moses basket for a baby, allows them to have a safe place to sleep which would otherwise be absent in many households afflicted by poverty. Not only are basic items handed out when needed, but they also aim to provide children with times of happiness at Christmas by giving gifts and food hampers to ensure they have more chance of enjoying the festive period.
The work at Wood Street Mission contributes in many other ways to making a difference to disadvantaged families. We hope to raise enough donations for this wonderful charity that has been giving to the local community for nearly 150 years.
