Story

Since 2008 Two voluntary midwives ,Frances and Maaike have been visiting Mongolia and Burma to help midwives and traditional birth attendants update their practice to make birth as safe as possible for mothers and babies in their care. We deliver up to date evidence based knowledge in these countries, as well as giving  basic equipment to assist them in their work in often very difficult conditions.

We are returning to Mongolia and Burma soon, and we are hoping to raise money for essential training equipment such as a doll and pelvis, cost £150  or hand washing equipment that checks to see if the correct technique has been followed after training to cut down on the risk of transmitted infections, cost £60 .This equipment will be left with the train the trainers to continue with our work. The picture of the hand below is a teaching aid that reminds people when they have to wash their hands, it has migrated to areas that we have not yet visited, showing how hard the train the trainers are working !

Thanks so much for supporting us so that we can continue our work in helping to improve health outcomes for Burmese and Mongolian families
