Story
As CEO of The Elizabeth Foundation, I want to do my bit to help raise much needed funds so we can continue to provide our unique support and education for deaf babies, toddlers and pre-school children, helping them learn to listen and speak.
So I have agreed to be arrested, by the police, be handcuffed, taken away in a police van and held in custody until I can raise £1,500 bail money! My crime? Impersonating a Brit!!!
Every day I see the difference our services make to these very special children and their families, from that first, often devastating diagnosis, which can be at any time from just 7 weeks old. With early intervention, we enable our children to develop good listening skills, natural speech, confidence and self esteem. By the time they are ready to move on to 'big school', the gap between them and their hearing peers has significantly narrowed, thus giving them the best possible start to their education.
One mum told us recently: "At 12 weeks, my son and I found The Elizabeth Foundation; it was a wonderful day; one I won't forget. That was three years ago. ... The Elizabeth Foundation helped me when I really needed somebody and they will always have a special place in my heart."
So, please can you help to get me released from 'prison'? Any donation you are able to make will help to get me out and ultimately enable The Elizabeth Foundation continue to help deaf babies and children in future.
Thank you so much!
