Great Britain Deaf Football is a completely self-funded organisation relying on donations and fund raising activities. Our history goes back to 1924, being crowned World Champions 6 times, most recently in Melbourne in 2005. We currently operate five representative national teams; men's, women's, men's under 23's and a veteran’s team. As well as taking part in tournaments we organize training & participation days throughout the year to develop & encourage deaf football.
The Great Britain under 23’s development team was set up in May 2014 to create a new pathway to develop the GB Mens team. The aim of the development team is to encourage young deaf footballers to develop their skills and give them the opportunity to represent their country at a junior level. It also serves as a feeder squad into the Mens team so that when experienced footballers retire from the Mens squad the new players have already been developed to the required international standard to feed into the GB Mens team.
In Poland this year there will be the first ever U21 European Deaf football Championships and Great Britain Deaf football will be sending a team to represent our country. The tournament will be held in August and GB Deaf football is asking for your support to raise the funds for the team to take part in this event.
How will your donation be used?
It is estimated that the team will need to raise approximately £25,000 to take part in the Championships and your donation will help fund accommodation, flights and training facilities.
Any level of donation will be much appreciated.
