Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am arranging the sixth annual sponsored walk of Gower on Saturday 6th June 2015 (with over 30 walkers) to raise funds for Teacher Aid, supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Zambia. We are raising funds this year to support over 400 children who attend the Good Samaritan School in Lusaka - a school that the charity has now supported for 10 years. We fund some of the teachers' salaries at the school and have recently restarted the feeding programme, (which had stopped because the American charity funding the programme were unable to continue). The school which has excellent results, provides education for children who would otherwise be unable to attend school because they are too poor. A third are orphans and most have lost one parent. We have started a refurbishment project and have recently funded repairs to the classroom floors, glazing , replacing the roof and broken doors. We hope that with money from the Yomp and other fundraising projects to finish the refurbishments at the school and be able to purchase new desks and chairs that are so badly needed. Every penny raised by us goes direct to the schools we support in Zambia.
